VAs in markets like the Philippines typically run in the $5-$15/hr range, VAs based stateside usually land between $15-$35/hr, and experienced executive virtual assistant cost Texas assistants can run $25 to $45 an hour or more. The rate mostly comes down to location and how specialized the work is.
One thing worth factoring in is whether you're hiring a freelancer directly or hiring through a dedicated placement agency. A freelancer often looks cheaper up front, but an agency rate usually already covers vetting and a replacement if something falls through.
